City Bank robber escapes in Waipahu

A woman robbed the Waipahu branch of City Bank yesterday afternoon, police said.
The woman walked up to a teller at about 12:05 p.m., brandished a knife and demanded money, police said. She was given some cash and ran in the mauka direction of Pupukahi Street.
The robber was described as in her early 20s, 5 feet 3, 135 pounds with a medium build. Police said she had dark hair and wore a black shirt over her face.

Mother allegedly tried to drown son
Police said yesterday that they arrested a 44-year-old Palolo Valley woman who allegedly tried to drown her 9-year-old son in a bathtub.
The boy was listed in serious but stable condition after paramedics carried him from his home and took him to a hospital.
Investigators said a woman called 911 at about 9 a.m., saying she had just drowned her son in the bathtub.
