Gunman robs Mililani bank

Advertiser Staff

A man with a handgun robbed the Mililani branch of American Savings Bank yesterday morning.

Dressed in a camouflage outfit, with a black T-shirt covering his head, the man forced his way to the front of the customer line at about 10:55 a.m., police said. He brandished a silver handgun and demanded money. As he ran off toward Moenamanu Street, a dye pack enclosed with the stolen cash exploded.

Police believe that he may have been involved in the June 26 robbery of the same bank. The suspect is described as being in his 30s, 5 feet 8, 160 pounds, with a medium build.
