Rainbow Wahine volleyball will be a feature attraction of Sunday Night Spike 2003, a new partnership between College Sports Television and the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Hawai'i will be shown on two of the 11 Sunday shows. UH will make a third appearance if it reaches the WAC Tournament Championship.

CSTV, the first 24-hour college sports network, started last year and currently can be caught only on satellite TV (DirecTV channel 610).

The Rainbow Wahine have moved their match at Santa Clara to Sept. 28, to allow live coverage on CSTV. The match will be played at 1 p.m. in California.

That change moved their WAC opener at San Jose State to Sept. 26.

The following week, Hawai'i's home WAC match against Nevada will still be played Saturday, but it will be shown tape delayed Sunday.

Sunday Night Spike will show 15 teams from last year's NCAA Championship. The first match will be Sept. 7 between Florida and Stanford.

Hawai'i has also updated its schedule on other dates. It will now play UCLA at 4 p.m. on Sept. 1, instead of 5 p.m. The newly sponsored Sprint Hawai'i Invitational will bring in Stanford, Weber State and Utah State Sept. 12 and 13.

The Rainbow Wahine's final regular-season matches will be at the UNLV Thanksgiving Tournament (Nov. 27-28). They play Weber State on Thanksgiving Day and Kentucky the following day.

Hawai'i returns All-Americans Lauren Duggins, Kim Willoughby and Lily Kahumoku from last year's final four team. It opens the 2003 season against Kansas State, Aug. 22, in the State Farm/NACWAA Women's Volleyball Classic at Stan Sheriff Center.
