THE LEFT LANE
A sexy stick-on bra

Advertiser Staff and News Services

Strapless, backless and sheer outfits are very much in keeping with current "barely there" fashion trends, but what to wear underneath? One answer is Nu Bra, a nude-colored, strapless, backless brassiere made of silicone that sticks right to your skin and, once you get used to it, even feels like a second skin.

Nu Bra comes in sizes 32A to 38C and retails for $60 at Neiman Marcus.

Protection for kids

No parents want to think their child running away or being kidnapped. But 800,000 children are reported missing each year, Department of Justice figures indicate.

To ease parents' minds, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the Ford Motor Co. are offering parents free digital identification kits. In Hawai'i, Windward Ford in Kailua will offer the kits in a Safety ID Days observance from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 29. Call 266-7000. See www.missingkids.com.

Your goal is fitness

Having trouble achieving fitness goals? Here are some tips from Fitness magazine:
  • Set a larger, long-term goal (i.e., so many pounds lost or so much running distance) then break it down into doable smaller goals, with target dates for each of them. Make your goals reasonable and specific: jogging for 30 minutes a day (as opposed to simply vowing to "exercise more").
  • Don't go overboard in either direction with your eating plan; make incremental changes, watch serving sizes, treat yourself (in a small way) often.
  • Short workouts/long workouts. Short workouts don't build aerobic endurance, and long workouts don't prepare your body to function anaerobically. Both are key to overall fitness and weight loss. Do both.
