It's dry: Don't waste our precious water

Of course, it'll probably be raining by the time you pick up this paper and read this message. In fact, it rains rather often in many parts of this state.

But lately, those rains haven't amounted to much.

So the Honolulu Board of Water Supply reminds that if we don't start conserving water now, we'll end up with problems later this year.

Maui's water supply director says that if Upcountry usage isn't reduced by 10 percent in the next week, mandatory restrictions may be implemented.

Saving water can be a matter of common sense, such as washing your car with a bucket of water instead of running the hose for a half-hour.

Please do what you can to find ways to cut down on your water use.
