Sex offender Jovie Adora, wanted on a $1 million warrant issued Wednesday for failing to appear at Circuit Court for sentencing, was arrested in Guam on Friday.
Adora was arrested about 6 p.m. Friday (10 p.m. Thursday Hawai'i time), by Guam police, Honolulu police Detective Letha DeCaires said.
On Wednesday Adora, who was free on bail and had previously pleaded guilty, was waiting outside Judge Fa'auuga To'oto'o's courtroom in Circuit Court but left before the start of his sentencing, said his attorney, Keith Shigetomi. Adora told Shigetomi he was going to the doctor. He was scheduled to be sentenced for kidnapping and sexual abuse.
