How Hawai'i hotels are faring

Statewide hotel occupancy rose for the week ended Saturday, according to Hospitality Advisors LLC, but results among the islands were varied. Kaua'i posted the highest occupancy rate at 80.1 percent. Maui had the highest daily room rate at $168.05 and the second highest occupancy rate at 72.7 percent. That's more than 15 percentage points higher than O'ahu and the Big Island, where hotels were closer to half full on average.
