Freshman pitcher Johnna Rowland (Mililani '02) was chosen first-team All-Golden Valley Conference for helping Siskiyous (Calif.) community college win the league softball championship with a school-best 18-2 record.
Rowland was 8-3 with a 1.29 earned run average in 81 1/3 innings and batted .272, being the designated player when not pitching.
Jenna Rowland (Mililani '02) will join her twin sister at Siskiyous next season, coach Doug Eastman said. "I would love to get some more talent from Hawai'i; Johnna is the first one we've had, and she is just a pleasure."
Siskiyous won the Northern California championship and advanced to the state tournament for the first time, where it lost to eventual champion Mount San Antonio 4-2. Rowland had two saves in the playoffs.
