Perky Reese Witherspoon has given the clothes off her back to help Neiman Marcus at Ala Moana Center promote a beauty and fashion style make-over contest.

Actually, it's just a cool display in the main window of a couple of original outfits Witherspoon wore in "Legally Blonde 2: Red, White and Blonde," which opens this summer. The display continues through Sunday and is meant to inspire fans to register for a chance at winning a makeover. (Witherspoon's clothes aren't part of the deal.)

What you can win are several make-over and beauty prizes, including a $1,000 in-store shopping spree. The contest ends June 29.

Get teens talking with 'The Diary Deck'

The Diary Project (www.diaryproject.com) was launched in 1995 as a place for teens to anonymously publish their innermost thoughts. It grew into a heavy-traffic Web site with more than 60,000 entries and millions of hits.

Diary Project founder Judi Shils is taking the ideas from the computer to something more tangible, a deck of cards called "The Diary Deck" (Chronicle Books, 2003, $14.95). Consisting of 50 flash cards in a box, the deck includes a sampling from journals about everything from body image to drugs, sexuality, friendship and stress.

The author says it's a powerful tool for parents, teachers and counselors to use to prompt discussions.
