• The Pacific Maritime Association, which represents West Coast shipping companies, locked out dockworkers at the 29 major Pacific ports for 10 days last fall. The companies had accused workers of an illegal work slowdown. A Business story posted Monday incorrectly called the dispute a strike. Also, 2.3 million tons of sugar cane were produced in 2002. The story used an incorrect number. The graphic accompanying the story showed production for sugar cane, not refined sugar.

• Before this year, the Honolulu City Council had not cut city administration budget requests for road maintenance. A Local News story posted May 5 incorrectly reported that city transportation officials have cut back on street maintenance in recent years because of budget cuts.

• Damien Memorial plans to open its middle school in fall 2004. A Local News story posted yesterday gave an incorrect year.
