Catch of the day

Shonn Hironaga of Keeau, shows off a 3-pound mu'u he caught at Kahuku Beach Ranch on the Big Island. Hironaga, 7, was fishing with his father and friends. "He tied on crab bait, and that's guaranteed if that fish (mu'u) is around," says Shonn's grandfather, Minoru Hironaga. The mu'u is hard to catch, says Minoru, and is known for having human-like molars in its mouth. "His father (Mark) recognized the fish immediately. I cooked it for them Chinese style and they liked it." Shonn goes fishing with his father, "whenever they can," Minoru says. "That's one thing he really loves is fishing."
