Tonight's Must-See

"Sue Thomas, F.B. Eye," 8 p.m., Pax. Summer is a time to catch up on shows you missed the first time. Here is the solid pilot for a first-rate series. The real-life Thomas, who has been deaf since she was 18 months old, worked for the FBI, often doing lip-reading. She's played wonderfully by Deanne Bray, who is also hearing-impaired. The opener shows her start at the FBI.

Of Note

"Last Comic Standing," 5 p.m., Comedy Central. Here's a quick second look at the series debut, which NBC aired Tuesday. Jay Mohr hosts the search for the best comedian.

"The Beach Boys: An American Family" (2000), 7 p.m., ABC. A fairly good miniseries has been trimmed from four hours to three. It's best when portraying the early years, when young musical genius Brian Wilson had a jealous dad (Kevin Dunn) and a quiet mom (Alley Mills).

"Maxim's Hot 100," 8 p.m., NBC. Here's one magazine's view of which people are hot (and, generally, sexy). The music is from Shakira, Mya and Pussycat Dolls.

"The District," 8 p.m., CBS. In a rerun, the headquarters must be quarantined because a suspect has a dangerous virus.

"The Agency," 9 p.m., CBS. This rerun has cops seeking a Palestinian native married to an American who has been accused of killing people at a travel agency.

"Saturday Night Live," 10:30 p.m., NBC. This reruns the episode hosted by Al Gore. Phish is the musical guest.
