CITY BANK announced two new hires. JOHN TAIRA is now vice president and corporate banking officer in the corporate banking division. He is responsible for soliciting corporate loans, deposits, and referring internal and external products to customers. A 20-year banking veteran, he last served as vice president and commercial real estate officer at Bank of Hawaii. CLYDE T. NAKASUE is now vice president and corporate banking officer for City Bank on the Big Island. Nakasue will be responsible for expanding and maintaining the bank's portfolio of high value business clients. He brings 25 years of banking experience from First Hawaiian Bank.

HOSPICE HAWAII recently appointed JAY Z. CONLEY director of marketing and development. Conley was previously with Conley & Associates, a consulting firm for strategic planning in healthcare facilities and nonprofit agencies. Conley was once community relations coordinator and director of marketing at Kahi Mohala.

HAWAI'I SCHOOLS FEDERAL CREDIT UNION has appointed ROBIN C. KIM president and chief executive officer. Kim will be responsible for management of the bank's assets as well as expanding membership.

CB RICHARD ELLIS HAWAII has promoted ROGER B. LYONS to senior vice president from vice president. Lyons has been with the real estate services company for 15 years.

BRIGHT LIGHT MARKETING GROUP account executive SUZANNE WATANABE has been promoted to account manager of the public relations and marketing firm. Before joining the firm, Watanabe was events and committee coordinator for the Building Industry Association of Hawaii.

ALOHA AIRLINES has announced the appointment of three veteran airlines executives to oversee passenger sales, brand marketing and revenue management. ANNETTE MURPHY is now senior vice president of passenger sales and service. Murphy joined Aloha Airlines in 2002 and has more than 30 years of experience in airline sales and customer service. STEPHANIE C. ACKERMAN is now senior vice president of marketing and external affairs. Ackerman has been directing Aloha's public relations, community and industry affairs for the past 16 years. Ackerman's career began as a flight attendant in 1972. RANDY A. LASER is now vice president of pricing and revenue management. Before joining Aloha Airlines, was vice president of pricing and revenue management at Spirit Airlines. Laser has 12 years of experience in the airline industry.

REHABILITATION HOSPITAL OF THE PACIFIC (REHAB), a medical rehabilitation inpatient hospital, with 14 clinics statewide, has announced expansion of its management team. New directors for the hospital include ROGER FINNIE, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Louis Vitton; BENJAMIN KUDO, attorney with Imanaka Kudo & Fujimoto; JOHN KOMEIJI of Watanabe, Ing, Kawashima & Komeiji; GLENN SEXTON, vice president and general manager of Xerox Corporation; DR. MYRON SHIRASU, former president of the Medical Executive Committee; and KEITH MATSUNAGA, president of Pacific Medical Healthcare & Supply Co.

The affiliated REHAB FOUNDATION has also elected two new members to its board of directors. The foundation's new directors are: EILEEN KAUHANE LOTA, former business development manager for The Pathway's Group, Inc.; GEORGE M. IRION, AT&T's director of consumer communications services for Hawai'i; DR. WILLIAM DAVIS, formerly on the hospital board; and FRED TROTTER, who rejoined the board.

STUART HO has been appointed REHAB Hospital's president and CEO. JIM WO is now chairman of the board and RON HO is vice chairman.

BANK OF HAWAII has promoted SUSAN E. B. GOVONI to senior vice president and retail collection and recover manager. Govoni has 15 years of experience with the company and will oversee the collection and recovery of consumer and small-business retail loans. She joined the company in 1988 as a commercial loan recovery specialist. BERNHARDT A. ALAMA was promoted to vice president from assistant vice president. Alama joined the bank in 1999 as a product manager in cash management. SUSAN J. MCKENNA was promoted to vice president. She will develop and manage new strategies to improve cash flow and efficiency for businesses. LYLE R. TAMAGAWA was promoted to vice president. He will continue his duties as metro region banking manager. KAREN C. LEE was also promoted to vice president. She is the manager of payment systems and oversees payment services. Lee joined the company in 1989 as an analyst in electronic banking. PAUL B. RAMELB has been named vice president. He will continue his duties at Bank of Hawaii as an audit consultant. He joined the bank in 1996. KEVIN B. YIM was promoted to vice president. Yim will continue his duties as advertising manager and will develop advertising, merchandising and signage activities. He joined the bank in 1997 as an advertising administrator.

CASTLE RESORTS & HOTELS recently appointed JORDAN JOANOU director of revenue management and reservations. Before this, Joanou was front office director and revenue manager at Turtle Bay Resort. CHRISTIE TAKASHIMA was promoted to contracts manager at Castle Resorts & Hotels. Takashima will assist the sales and marketing department with all its wholesale contracts.

ALSTON HUNT FLOYD & ING has announced the hiring of several new attorneys: THOMAS E. BUSH, recently a partner with Winer Meheula Devens & Bush, is an attorney of counsel with a focus on commercial litigation, including construction, real property, insurance coverage and employment disputes. SHARON ON LENG, also an attorney of counsel, has also joined AHFI. On Leng was previously with Hawaii Pacific Health, and her practice is focused in health care law.

Also joining AHFI as associates: LAURA P. COUCH, most recently a senior litigation associate with Pinto & Dubia in California, practices in the areas of partnership disputes, unfair business practice claims, and contract disputes. BETSY J. JOHNSON, formerly an associate with Bays Deaver Lung Rose & Baba, will focus on the area of construction litigation. DARREN S. MATSUDA was previously employed by Bays Deaver Lung Rose & Baba. He will focus on the areas of employment and construction litigation. MELISSA TEVES PAVLICEK has joined AHFI with a focus on business transactions and government affairs. Teves has served as chair of the Hawaii State Bar Association Business Law Section and president of Hawaii Women Lawyers. She is currently the vice president of the Legal Aid Society of Hawaii. ELIZABETH APODACA ROBINSON joined AHFI having recently completed a clerkship at the Hawai'i Intermediate Court of Appeals. She is a cum laude graduate of the University of Hawai'i William S. Richardson School of Law and member of the American Bar Association and Hispanic Bar Association.
