Stolen car found in canal

A BMW sedan reported stolen was found by police yesterday, immersed in a canal near the Mokapu Saddle Road end of Kapa'a Quarry Road. The car's owner told police the vehicle was stolen sometime between 8 p.m. Sunday and 8 a.m. yesterday.

Police said they believed the car had been dumped. No one was in the car, and no suspects have been arrested.

The owner was notified, and his insurance company will remove the car today.
