Case endorses Lieberman for 2004
Advertiser Washington Bureau
WASHINGTON Rep. Ed Case has endorsed Sen. Joseph Lieberman of Connecticut for the Democratic presidential nomination in 2004.
"He does have the broadest and deepest range of experience," said Case, D-Hawai'i.
Case said he does not expect to have an extensive role in Lieberman's campaign but would likely speak to people here and in Hawai'i on the candidate's behalf.
The congressman said he chose Lieberman because of the senator's moderate political views and the belief that he would be the best candidate to face President Bush. "Lieberman has always been on my radar screen," he said.
Lieberman, the party's vice presidential nominee in 2000, is one of nine Democrats competing for the nomination. None of the candidates has emerged as a front-runner.
