Longboard series rolls at Kewalo

The Hawaiian Style Kewalo Kup, featuring longboarders Kanoa Dahlin, Bonga Perkins and Joey Valentin, will run tomorrow and Sunday at Kewalo Basin.
Competition will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and features a $2,000 prize purse.
There will be 13 other amateur divisions for males and females.
The Kup is the second event in the 2003 HLF Steinlager Series, a tour of five longboard surf events.

SOFTBALL
'Aiea team wins state title: The Golden Eagles of 'Aiea won the 2003 Amateur Softball Association Girls 12 and under State Championship.
They will represent Hawai'i in the ASA National Championship Finals at Marietta, Ga., July 28 through Aug. 3.
SWIMMING
Clinics begin: The Waikiki Roughwater Swim Clinics begin tomorrow.
The clinics are designed to inform the public about the details of the Waikiki Roughwater Swim on Sept. 1. Classes will include an orientation of the race course, training guidelines including conditioning and mechanics, start and finish strategy, water safety and ocean swimming skills.
The clinics run tomorrow and July 26 at Sans Souci Beach, and Aug. 16 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach, from 8 a.m. to 9:30.

FISHING
Kona Classic starts June 27: The 7th Annual Kona Classic begins at 6 p.m. on June 27, at the Hawai'i Big Game Fish Club at Honokohau Harbor with registration and a captain's meeting.
The competition will be June 28 and 29, from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with anglers and teams competing for a purse of up to $50,000.
The Kona Classic is a four flags tournament, meaning that competitors will be eligible to win cash and prizes by fishing for 'ahi, ono, mahi mahi and Pacific blue marlin.

SOCCER
Memorial Cup at Ala Wai: Honolulu United and the Ohana Masters will play for the Gordy Yank Memorial Cup at the Ala Wai field tomorrow night at 7:30.
The game is in memory of Gordon Beatty and Yank Albers, who both were involved in the start of O'ahu's Men's Island Soccer Organization Master League.
