Man arrested in assault on dad

Police yesterday arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of second-degree assault after his 51-year-old father was attacked at their Kailua residence.

Police said the men were arguing when the father was kicked in the mouth, losing a tooth. The son also gouged at his father's eyes, police said.

Charges sought in attack with gun

Police were seeking to press charges against a 33-year-old man they said hit a 30-year-old man on the head with a gun yesterday during an altercation in 'Aiea.

Police said after the men got into an argument at a Hekaha Street bar, the suspect left and returned with a gun, which he used to hit and threaten the victim. The victim suffered a laceration on his scalp, police said.

Police said the suspect would be charged with second-degree assault and first-degree terroristic threatening.

Man wanted on warrants nabbed

A man who was wanted by police for outstanding domestic violence and contempt warrants was arrested yesterday.

Police arrested 23-year-old Josey K. Smith in Nu'uanu.

In connection with Smith's case, police also arrested and charged a 24-year-old man with second-degree hindering prosecution.
