Arceneaux named as Saint Louis School head football coach

Former Saint Louis School quarterback Darnell Arceneaux accepted an offer to become the Crusaders' head football coach this afternoon.Arceneaux, 25, currently is a quarterback for the Hawaiian Islanders arenafootball2 professional football team. The Islanders' regular season ends July 27, and he has announced it will be his last as a player.
"This is a great transition for me," Arceneaux said. "It's a high-profile job, but it's just like the challenge of being a quarterback, my whole life has been about challenges."
Arceneaux starred at Saint Louis in football and basketball, earning All-State honors in both in 1995-96.
He has no coaching experience on the high school level.
