THE LEFT LANE
Bayfest is looking for a few hot bods

Advertiser Staff and News Services

Is it all about the bod? You decide.

The Nutri-Fit Body Search Challenge is going to be part of the McKenna Motors' Bayfest 2003. It includes modeling fitness and bathing-suit contests for men and women, starting at 4:30 p.m. on July 5.

Entry is free if you register before the day of the event, $10 on the day. All contestants must be at least 18.

The rules say it will be about personality, physique and interview skills. Leave your thong at home.

The top three men and women each earn cash and prizes, with the event's proceeds being used to enhance the quality of life for Marines and families stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawaii.

Call 254-7597 to register. For more information on this and other Bayfest festivites, see www.bayfesthawaii.com.

Visualize Barney, 24 hours a day

Kid-sized education and entertainment is coming to Hawai'i starting on July 1.

PBS Kids will offer a wide range of television programming geared especially to children, with animated shows, music, games, kids clubs, story contests and more. Shows include "Arthur," "Barney & Friends," "Caillou," "Clifford the Big Red Dog," "Cyberchase," "Dragon Tales," "Mister Rogers," "Reading Rainbow," "Sesame Street," "Teletubbies" and "Zoom."

Charlie's Angels may do the Islands again

DIAZ
She likes us. She really likes us.

"She" is Cameron Diaz, the $20 million star of the "Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle" blockbuster that opens Friday. In a recent interview, Diaz dialed in on her preferred location for a third Charlie's Angels' adventure.

"Hawai'i. We gotta do the next one in Hawai'i," she said.

Drew Barrymore, fellow Angel and co-producer, can see it happening.

"They did that as the second-season opener for the series," Barrymore said. "The one that introduced Cheryl Ladd, I'm pretty sure."

"Good," Diaz said. "We have a precedent."
