Hawaiian suspends service to Pago Pago

Advertiser Staff

Hawaiian Airlines announced yesterday it has temporarily suspended its service between Honolulu and Pago Pago, American Samoa, because of concerns about the condition of the runway at Pago Pago International Airport, according to a written statement from the airline. The airline suffered damage to its aircraft on two of its last three flights to the airport.

Hawaiian Airlines has cancelled its next two round trips between Honolulu and Pago Pago, scheduled for tomorrow and Friday, to complete an assessment of the runway and to determine when to resume operations.

Customers ticketed for flights that are cancelled during this period will be offered the option of using their tickets on future flights or receiving full refunds.
