AOL Time Warner chief to address UH commencement

Advertiser Staff

Richard Parsons, CEO of AOL Time Warner Inc. and a former University of Hawai'i student, will give the commencement address at UH on May 18, two days after he is scheduled to add the title of chairman to his duties at AOL Time Warner.

Parsons attended UH from 1964 to 1968 but did not graduate. He was unable to speak at last year's graduation but made a commitment to UH president Evan Dobelle to appear this year, according to Paul Costello, UH vice president for external affairs.

In January, AOL Time Warner's board elected Parsons to succeed Stephen Case, a Punahou graduate, as chairman of the world's largest media company.
