AL HOSOI, long-time general manager of Ruth's Chris Steak House, in Restaurant Row, has resigned. Replacing him April 1 after training at various Ruth's Chris Mainland locations will be PAUL AH COOK, formerly director of operations and general manager of Sam Choy's Restaurants and the Let's Eat Hawai'i Product Line and Catering Co. Ah Cook is also past general manager at Michel's at the former Colony Surf hotel.

AMIN LEIMAN has been named chief information officer for tour and transportation company, Roberts Hawai'i. He will oversee information technology functions and projects for the company and subsidiaries, including sightseeing tours on all major islands, dinner cruises on O'ahu and the Big Island, interisland travel air-room-car packages, the Magic of Polynesia show; Regency Culinary Services and the Roberts Hawai'i school bus transportation service. The 15-year veteran of information risk management is an adjunct professor at both the University of Hawai'i and Hawai'i Pacific University. He was most recently director of risk and advisory services for KPMG, a financial services company.

PAUL Y. TOMONARI — a 27-year veteran of travel industry and sales and marketing management with many of the state's major resort chains — has been named executive vice president of marc Resorts. He will oversee daily operations and sales and marketing for the Hawai'i-based hotel and resort management company. Most recently general manager of The Park Shore Waikiki, and before that assistant general manager of The 'Ilikai/Hotel Nikko Waikiki, Tomonari has also held positions with Stouffer Wailea Beach Resort, Maui, and with Sheraton Hotels Hawai'i.

• The Honolulu Advertiser has hired two marketing and communications professionals within its market development department:

  • FAYE YORCK, marketing communications manager, overseeing creative and promotional projects to market and increase the newspaper's visibility within the community. The marketing and advertising veteran has worked at Hawai'i Visitor Television, Oceanic Time Warner Cable and KGMB-TV in Honolulu, and KMTR-TV in Eugene, Ore.
  • HEIDI WITHERSPOON, promotion copywriter, most recently a contributing writer for The Sun newspaper, Bremerton, Wash., with past freelance credits with brands such as Nordstrom and Payless ShoeSource.

• Honolulu attorney ALFRED M.K. WONG has been named chairman of the board for Maryknoll School. Wong is attorney of counsel for Takushi Wong Lee & Yee law firm. He is past president and managing director of Takushi Funaki Wong & Stone law firm; former chairman, Hawai'i Judicial Selection Committee; former adjunct professor of law, William S. Richardson School of Law, University of Hawai'i; and founding director, The Honolulu Club.

• As part of a recent restructuring, Certified Management Inc. property management company has added an executive level of nine directors and one assistant director, each responsible for a specific area of client service:

  • ALAN TAKUMI, executive director of business management, a liaison for all directors, with responsibility for project development follow-up, goals and annual meeting schedules.
  • JIM ANDERSEN, director of administration, overseeing the transition of new account executives.
  • JIM JEPSON JR., director of budget and finance.
  • TOM TABACCO, director of business literature, working with the director of education to develop company literature and manuals.
  • REIKO MARINO, director of community business, and Martha Scheller, assistant director of community business, working as liaison with director of special (company sponsored) events.
  • BRIAN MOLINA, director of education and training.
  • LINDA ALEXANDER, director of public relations and communications.
  • STACEY TOKAIRIN, director of special events.
  • JON McKENNA, director of systems, a liaison with staff on computer system and programs, and helping maintain Web site maintenance.

DUANE I. TERUYA, most recently City Bank vice president and manager of the dealer center and consumer loan center, has been named chief lending officer for HAWAI'I STATE FEDERAL CREDIT UNION. The 20-year banking industry veteran has also served as a loan officer with Bank of Hawaii.
