Warriors maintain No. 2 volleyball ranking

Advertiser Staff

After last week's two-match split with top-ranked Pepperdine, the University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team remained No. 2 in the USA Today/American Volleyball Coaches Association's Top-15 Poll, which was released today.

Pepperdine retained its No. 1 ranking, securing 15 of the 16 first-place votes. UH received the other No. 1 vote.

UH coach Mike Wilton said he was not surprised by the rankings.

"I can't imagine us dropping," he said. "That would be ludicrous."

The Warriors have beaten six teams ranked among the top seven.

Brigham Young is third, followed by UC Irvine and Lewis.

UH plays to No. 12 Loyola-Chicago tomorrow and Friday in the Stan Sheriff Center.
