Miloli'i man suspected of shooting wife

Hilo police have released a 35-year-old man pending further investigation into the shooting of the man's wife at the couple's Miloli'i home.

Police said they were called to the home at 8:23 a.m. Saturday, and found the woman had been shot in the abdomen. The woman was at Kona Community Hospital in stable condition.

Her husband was arrested on first-degree assault and related firearm counts.

Investigation is continuing by the Kona Criminal Investigation Section.
