Lady Techsters rout Rainbow Wahine

TULSA, Okla. ­ Cheryl Ford scored 21 points to lead Louisiana Tech to the Western Athletic Conference women's basketball tournament final with a 85-58 victory over Hawai'i today.

Louisiana Tech (28-2) won its nation-leading 26th in a row. The Lady Techsters, ranked No. 6 in the country, face Fresno State tomorrow for the championship. The Bulldogs defeated Southern Methodist, 81-67, in the other semifinal.

Hawai'i finished 16-13.

Kim Willoughby and April Atuaia each scored 12 for the Rainbow Wahine.

The UH men play Tulsa in the semifinals this afternoon. The game will televised live on K5 at 4:30 p.m.
