Hawai'i-Hilo falls to Humboldt State, 102-81

LA'IE Austin Nichols scored a game-high 23 points and Trey Shannon added 22 points as No. 14 Humboldt State defeated Hawai'i-Hilo 102-81 today in the first round of the NCAA Division II Men's Basketball Championship West Region tournament.UH-Hilo was led by Brady Hyde's 21 points.
Humboldt State is 23-5. UH-Hilo finished 18-10.
Host Brigham Young-Hawai'i plays later against Cal State Bakersfield.
