A 40-year-old Kailua man was arrested and charged with being a felon in possession of firearms after police said they found a small arsenal of weapons in his home.

Warren Dean Castro was arrested Wednesday after the FBI and Honolulu police executed a search warrant on his Onioni Street home.

During the search, police and the FBI found a locker in a bedroom closet and recovered 13 firearms, according to an affidavit filed in U.S. District Court yesterday. Among the weapons recovered, the affidavit said, were several loaded pistols, shotguns and rifles.

In one of the bedrooms, authorities also found two revolvers, one of which was loaded and the other without a serial number, according to the affidavit.

The FBI and police said Castro told them that he was holding the weapons for a friend, the affidavit said.

The FBI said Castro was convicted in May 24, 2000, of three counts of terroristic threatening.
