100-year-old sets run mark

Erwin Jaskulski, a 100-year-old runner from Honolulu, set an age-group record in the 400 meters Thursday with a time of 3:40.79.
Jaskulski became the first athlete in the 100-plus category ever to finish the race in a timed official meet.
The race was part of the University of Hawai'i Sunset Series, held at the University of Hawai'i track.
Erwin now holds the world record for the 100 meters, 200 meters and 400 meters in both the 95-99 and the 100-plus age groups.
BODY BUILDING
Hawai'i Kai athlete to compete: Michael Monis of Hawai'i Kai will compete at the World Bodybuilding Championships on June 14 in Scotland, according to his promoter.
Monis, a world champion bodybuilder, holds numerous titles, including the 1998 Mr. Europe Natural. He also is a Hawaiian International Champion, a Los Angeles Grand Prix Champion and has been profiled on ESPN.

Rugby: Andrew Shelly is the president of the rugby club at Hawai'i Pacific University. John Gough is a member of the club. Their names were misspelled in a story in yesterday's Advertiser.
Wrestling: Krislyn Mostoles is wrestling in the 121-pound division of the state high school girls wrestling tournament this weekend. Her name was misspelled in Thursday's Advertiser.
