UH men, women will travel to play in NIT

The University of Hawai'i men's and women's basketball teams have been invited to play in National Invitation Tournaments, it was announced today.

The UH men (18-11) will play a first-round game at Nevada-Las Vegas (21-10) on Wednesday. The final four of the 40-team tournament will be played at New York's Madison Square Garden. The championship game is on April 3.

The Rainbow Wahine (16-12) will open the Women's NIT at Arizona State (15-13) on Thursday. The finals of the 32-team tournament also will be in the first week in April.
