When Dad tells his war stories

My sons love to hear their dad, Wendell, tell stories about when he was a young Navy officer. One evening, the kids asked him to share more. Wendell told a story about when he was off the coast of Kaua'i. With a look of modest pride and excitement, he talked about his firing rockets at a target.

"I fired not one, not two, not three, not four, but five times ... "

My oldest son, Kendell, chuckled and said, "Because you missed?"

Wendell responded, "No, those were during five different training exercises."
