Pac-Five rallies to knock off Mid-Pacific in baseball

Paul Nishimura's two-run single highlighted Pac-Five's four-run rally in the bottom of the sixth-inning as the Wolfpack defeated defending state champion Mid-Pacific, 5-1, yesterday at Ala Wai Field in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball game.

Tyler Inouye pitched a complete game allowing allowing one run on seven hits and recorded two strikeouts.

• KAMEHAMEHA 11, SAINT LOUIS 3: Isaac Kamai allowed two runs on six hits, striking out four in six innings as the Warriors defeated the Crusaders in an ILH opener at Ala Wai Field.

Kamehameha scored eight of its 11 runs in the fourth and fifth innings behind eight hits and two errors.

• PUNAHOU 13, DAMIEN 0: Jared Pate, Logan Narikawa and Kachi Downing combined on a one-hit shutout as the Buffanblu routed the Monarchs at Ala Wai Field.

The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.

Robert Kurisu had two hits and three RBIs for the Buffanblu.

The MIL adopted a 15-run, three-inning mercy rule this season.

• ILH VARSITY TOURNAMENT: Iolani's Casey Kobashigawa shot an even-par 72 yesterday to claim boys medalist honors at a Interscholastic League of Honolulu varsity round-robin match at Pali Golf Course.

Mari Chun, of Kamehameha, had the low girls round with a 3-over-par 77.
