NATHAN J. SULT has been named chief legal officer at Bank of Hawaii, managing the bank's legal staff and outside law firms. He will continue to provide legal services to various bank units, including electronic banking, information technology, corporate sourcing and consumer deposits groups. Sult, who succeeds Joseph T. Kiefer, who has retired, also serves on the bank's negotiating teams for large-scale technology and outsourcing contracts. He joined the bank in 1995 as vice president and senior counsel, and was promoted last year to senior vice president.

He is a former partner with the Honolulu law firm of Koshiba & Young.

• Aloha Airlines named two airline industry veterans to oversee airport operations systemwide: BRUCE BENNETT and JOHN A. ALBRECHT as regional vice presidents of airport operations for Hawai'i, and North America, respectively. Albrecht's post, a promotion, will put him in charge of passenger services at North America and Central and South Pacific airports Aloha serves. Albrecht joined Aloha in 1999 as general manager of the Oakland station, playing a key role in the launch of Aloha's first transpacific service in early 2000. Bennett was formerly with Braniff Airways and Southwest Airlines.

SARAH CUNNINGHAM has been named editorial director of The Limtiaco Co., a marketing and public relations firm. She will oversee preparation of press releases, brochures, speeches, annual reports, newsletters and press kits.

• Former YWCA of O'ahu executive director JOAN P. WHITE has been named executive director of The Hawai'i Uninsured Project, a coalition of Hawai'i organizations — including the state Department of Health — working to ensure Hawai'i residents have access to healthcare coverage. White most recently was vice president of the Healthcare Association of Hawai'i.

Also named were GWEN OUYE-NAKAMA, five-year veteran of healthcare policy and administration, new associate director of policy and planning; and JACQUELYN SMITH, most recently with The Limtiaco Co., new associate director of community relations and grant management.

• First Hawaiian Bank has announced several officer promotions:

  • JOHN S. FUJIMOTO, to vice president and deputy general auditor, Audit Division.
  • KAREN M. FUJISHIGE, to assistant vice president, Consumer Service Center.
  • JOHN K. GUERRI, to assistant vice president, Institutional Funds Management.
  • ARLENE Y. HONDA, to assistant vice president and personal banking officer, Kahului, Maui, branch.
  • DENISE H. KIMURA, to assistant vice president and service manager, Main Banking Center.
  • JOANNE MARK-AJIMINE, to assistant vice president and product manager.

Also announced were several officer appointments:

  • JULIE A. BEERMAN, to real-estate loan officer, Branch Residential Loan Department.
  • ARNOLD GARZINO, to business banking officer, Kahului, Maui, branch.
  • RAYMOND M. MOOK, to assistant vice president, Taft Hartley department.

• Locally owned and managed property and casualty insurance carrier Island Insurance Companies has hired ROSS YOKOYAMA as accounts receivable manager. He was formerly accountant for premium and financial accounts at HIH America Insurance Co. of Hawai'i.

BRIAN ALLEN, a former general manager of the Kaua'i Coconut Beach Resort, has been promoted to director of food and beverage of the Hawai'i Convention Center. Since 2001, he has been HCC's senior catering sales manager and assistant director of operations. Allen is also a former director of food and beverage at Royal Lahaina Resort, and Honolulu airport manager of Budget Rent-A-Car.

• Recognizing her experience in the marketing department of Atlantis Adventures, and as former public relations and military sales coordinator, JONELLE GARCIA has been named marketing services manager for the company's domestic market, encompassing Mainland and westbound visitors, kama'aina customers and locally based military personnel and dependents. Atlantis Adventures, owner and operator of Atlantis Submarines and Atlantis Cruises, also provides sales and marketing services for Sea Life Park Hawai'i and Waimea Falls Park.

• Advertising agency Milici Valenti Ng Pack, and sister interactive marketing firm, Firefly, have announced recent hirings and a promotion:

  • At Milici Valenti Ng Pack: JACKIE EMERSON, account executive; TANIA ISHIMARU, account coordinator; GARY HUMENIK, senior copywriter; SUDIPTO "PIKU" GHOSH, junior copywriter; and RICHARD OSAKI, creative production artist.
  • At Firefly: VALENTINE PFYL and ANELIA MANOVA, project coordinators; and, promoted from project coordinator to assistant project manager, JONTUE KOFF.
