Purse-snatching suspect caught

A man chased down by witnesses after attempting to steal a woman's purse last night was arrested by police on suspicion of second-degree robbery.

The incident on the 1900 block of Ala Moana was reported at 9:55 p.m. Police said the 41-year-old man, who has no permanent local address, allegedly approached a 21-year-old woman from the rear and grabbed her purse.
