The finalists are ...

We've left it up to readers to decide which of 10 finalists should be Hawai'i's Bachelor in our dating game that brings reality to your doorstep. As of today, we've closed the polls for your votes on the top 10 nominees.

On Friday, we'll reveal the men you chose as your three favorites. Then we'll open the polls again and you can make your final selection. Go to www.honoluluadvertiser.com to view the bachelors' videos, read their bios and find out what happens next.

For eyes of beholders

The beauty industry is flooded with hyperbole and often outrageous claims. It can leave your head spinning. To the rescue comes Cynthia Robins, beauty editor of the San Francisco Chronicle and author of "The Beauty Workbook: A Common Sense Approach to Skin Care, Makeup, Hair and Nails" — a painstakingly honest book brimming with insider advice. She offers practical ideas on how to navigate the maze of makeup counters, protect against sun damage and choose cosmetic colors that work best. The 176-page hardback sells for $24.95. When we called to check, Borders and Barnes & Noble had copies on hand.

Buff your baby buggy

Entry forms are due at the Pearlridge Keiki Club by March 25. Information: 488-0981.
