Gas price varies within state

The average price of gasoline climbed about 2 cents to a record $1.96 in Honolulu yesterday despite a recent dip in crude oil prices.
In Wailuku, Maui, the price of a gallon of regular gasoline dipped a half penny from a record $2.264 Tuesday to $2.259 yesterday, according to the AAA travel club.
In Hilo, prices also rose to $2.096 but remained about 20 cents below the area's record high.
The statewide average price of self-serve regular rose slightly to $2.032, but remained about 2 cents below a record high of $2.057.
Prices at the pump are higher even while crude oil prices are at a three-month low.
