Man sentenced in fatal stabbing

An O'ahu man was sentenced yesterday to life in prison with the possibility of parole in the fatal stabbing of his former girlfriend at her Kahala home in March 2001.

The defense said Henry Lagmay stabbed Isabelle Yim-Mortier, 38, after she came at him with a knife in each hand. But the prosecution said Lagmay broke into Yim-Mortier's townhouse on Keanu Street and stabbed her because he was upset that she had ended their relationship.
