Water main break expected to disrupt traffic

Advertiser Staff

A 12-inch water main break today on Ka'onohi Street caused damage to the roadway on Kamehameha Highway fronting Anna Miller's restaurant in Pearl City that is expected to disrupt westbound afternoon rush-hour traffic flow, a Board of Water Supply spokesperson said.

Repair work on the Ka'onohi Street main, which ruptured last night at 11:35 p.m., was expected to be completed by mid-morning, said BWS spokesperson Denise DeCosta. That work had to be completed before a private contractor hired by BWS could start repairing a section of Kamehameha Highway damaged by pressure from the ruptured main.
