Saints, Owls play to a tie

Kip Masuda's single to right field drove in Grant Yamaguchi with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to give Mid-Pacific a 10-all tie with Saint Louis in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball game at Mid-Pacific field.

The game was called after nine innings because of darkness.

In the top the ninth, Travis Ganzaga, Shane Butcher and John Gentry hit singles for Saint Louis. Ganzaga scored on Gentry's single to give the Crusaders a 10-9 lead.

Gentry was 4 for 5 with a double and triple. Ganzaga also had four hits.

Kevin Whalen was 2 for 5, including a double and four RBIs for Mid-Pacific.

Kahiwa Letman went 2 for 2 with a double, home run, two runs scored and two RBIs for the Raiders. Reid Saito went 3 for 3.

Sean Michael Stoltzman's triple was the only hit for Damien.

Baldwin routs Seabury Hall: Jonathan Honda pitched a two-hit shutout as Baldwin defeated Seabury Hall, 15-0, in a Maui Interscholastic League baseball game at Iron Maehara Stadium in Wailuku.

The Bears sent 13 batters to the plate in the first inning.

Baldwin's Kimo Klask was 3 for 4, including two RBIs.

The game was called after five innings because to the league's 10-run rule.

Maui sent 17 batters to the plate in the first-inning and scored six runs before the first out.

The game was stopped at the end of three innings because of the league's 15-run rule.

Yamashita strikes out 19: Former University of Hawai'i pitcher Sean Yamashita struck out 19 as McCully defeated Sheridan, 11-5, in Wednesday night's O'ahu AJA double elimination tournament at Ala Wai field.

McCully's win forces a championship game between the two teams on Sunday at Ala Wai Field.

The winner advances to the State AJA tournament April 5-6 in Hilo.
