Maui's Otake, Cayan pitcher perfect

Vance Otake and Jon Cayan combined on a five-inning perfect game as Maui routed Ka'ahumanu Hou, 17-0, in a Maui Interscholastic League game yesterday at Iron Maehara Stadium.

Otake pitched the first two innings in a game shortened by the mercy rule.

Otake and Cayan each struck out six for Maui, which improved to 4-0.

Ka'ahumanu Hou dropped to 0-4.
