THE LEFT LANE
We've got him covered

Advertiser Staff

Scholastic Books released the cover of the highly anticipated "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix," J.K. Rowling's fifth Harry Potter book, which is due in stores June 21. It was once again created by Mary Grand, illustrator of all four previous Harry Potter American editions.

In Britain and other English-speaking countries, the book will have two available covers, one for adults and one for children. The adult edition of "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" features a somber black-and-white picture of a phoenix, while the children's version of the boy wizard book is illustrated with a more vibrant red-and-orange bird rising from flames.

Get it off your chest

If there's a woodworker or someone who is interested in Asian furnishings on your gift list, you should know about a new coffee-table book, "Japanese Cabinetry: The Arts & Craft of Tansu," by David Jackson and Dane Owen (Gibbs and Smith Publishing, hardback, $60).

The photographs will captivate anyone with an interest in Japan, and the book covers every aspect of wooden chests: their history, construction, uses, types and place in Japanese society.
