Advertiser Staff

The second-ranked University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team cruised to a 30-25, 30-19, 30-26 victory over UC San Diego last night in RIMAC Arena.

The Warriors lead the series, 28-0.

The rematch is Friday night.

Outside hitter Eyal Zimet's 13 kills led the Warriors, who did not use their best player, outside hitter Costas Theocharidis. UH coach Mike Wilton rested Theocharidis while playing the other 11 players on the active roster.

The Warriors improved to 18-5 overall and 12-5 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. The Tritons fell to 5-17 and 1-16.
