Bicyclist found hurt in Hau'ula

A bicyclist injured last night in an apparent hit-and-run on Kamehameha Highway in Hau'ula was in critical condition today at The Queen's Medical Center.

The man, 26, was found about 8 p.m. on the roadway near Hau'ula Shopping Center. He was taken to Queen's by helicopter.


Man arrested in stabbing

A 38-year-old Iwilei man was arrested by police today for questioning about a stabbing last night in Chinatown. The man was taken into custody at his Robello Lane residence at 12:25 a.m. and booked on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 46-year-old man who was stabbed in the upper right chest in the incident was taken to The Queen's Medical Center. Police and hospital officials declined to release information on the injured man's condition.

The stabbing at North Pauahi and Maunakea streets was reported to police at 11:07 p.m. yesterday. The incident followed a brief confrontation between the two men, police said.

Waikiki woman reported missing

Police are trying to locate a 23-year-old Waikiki woman who has not been seen since March 18. Jolene Morizono requires daily medication and may become confused and disoriented without it, police said.

Morizono is 5 feet 2 inches tall, weighs 98 pounds and has black shoulder-length hair. She is known to frequent Waikiki nightclubs and public libraries. Anyone with information on Morizono's whereabouts is asked to call Officer Mary Aragones of HPD's Missing Persons Detail at 529-3064, or CrimeStoppers at 955-8300 or *CRIME on cellular.


Big Island man hit by car, killed

A Big Island man was killed last night in Kona when he was struck by a car after being thrown from his motorcycle on Route 190 near the intersection of Hina Lani Street. Police today identified the man as Don MacDonald, 53, of Kalaoa Street.

MacDonald lost control of his 1982 Yamaha motorcycle about 8:15 p.m., police said. While lying on the roadway, he was hit by a 1990 Nissan sports car driven by a 42-year-old Kona man.


Youth charged with car theft

A 17-year-old Big Island boy arrested and charged yesterday with felony offenses related to the ramming of a police car in Hilo has been sent to the Hawai'i Youth Correctional Facility on O'ahu.

The boy, whose name was not released, is charged with first-degree criminal property damage, second-degree terroristic threatening and second-degree theft of a motor vehicle. He was arrested by police investigating reports of car break-ins at the Hale Moana condo complex at 1911 Kalaniana'ole Ave.

Attempting to flee, the boy allegedly drove his car at the police vehicles.
