Tonight's Must-See

"Becoming American: The Chinese Experience," 7:30 p.m., PBS; concludes Thursday. Tuesday's opener ended in 1882 with the Chinese Exclusion Act barring further immigration. That was a cruel blow to the men who had been saving to bring their families. It was also coupled by waves of anti-Chinese violence. Chinatowns, small enclaves that still exist in many cities today, were formed mostly for friendship and security.

Of Note

"Six Feet Under," 7 p.m., HBO. This reruns Sunday's episode in which Claire began to suspect she might really have talent as an artist. There's also a moving subplot involving a gay man's funeral.

"The President's Man" (2000), 8 p.m. and "The President's Man: A Line in the Sand" (2002), 10 p.m., USA Network. Chuck Norris made these movies for CBS, hoping to spin off a series with a younger hero. Norris plays an ace government agent whose daughter (Jennifer Tung) is also skilled. Now they train a soldier — Dylan Neal in the first film, Judson Mills in the second — to take over. Along the way, there are some solid-enough adventures.

"The Bachelor," 8 p.m., ABC. Unless it's pre-empted by war coverage, 25 women will get their shot at a real millionaire, Andrew Firestone, tire-company heir. Tonight, he dumps 10 of them.

"Thomas L. Friedman Reporting: Searching for the Roots of 9/11," 8 & 11 p.m., Discovery Channel. Friedman, a New York Times reporter, has won two Pulitzer prizes for his Middle East writing and a third for commentary. This special has him trying to understand the psychology of middle-class Muslims who approve of the 9/11 attacks.

"Wanda at Large" debut, 8:30 p.m., Fox. Wanda Sykes plays an outspoken commentator whose brash style bothers her colleagues; a great cast works with OK material.
