Two of the four men who took part in the July 1999 armed robbery of American Savings Bank's Kahala branch have been sentenced in federal court to prison terms.
Federal Judge Susan Mollway yesterday sentenced Jacob Hayme, 26, to 19 years and seven months in federal prison for his part in the robbery.
On Monday, Mollway sentenced Sean Matsunaga, 22, to 22 1/2 years.
Hayme had pleaded guilty to conspiracy, bank robbery and using a semiautomatic firearm to rob the bank, while Matsunaga was found guilty of the same charges following a trial. Hayme received a shorter sentenced because he agreed to plead guilty to the charges.
Albert Batalona, who was convicted as one of the robbers and attempted first-degree murder for firing 26 bullets at a police officer, was sentenced in October 2000 in state court to life in prison without parole.
The fourth man, Roger Dailey, is scheduled to be sentenced in federal court in July.
