1. Crimes against children
On Thursday, the House passed on a 410-14 vote a bill that would create a national child abduction alert system and increase criminal penalties for child kidnappers and murderers. A "yea" vote was to pass the bill

2. Day of prayer
On Thursday, the House passed on a 346-49 vote a bill that urges President Bush to designate a national day of prayer and fasting during a time of war and terrorism. A "yea" vote was to pass the bill.

Key Senate votes:
1. Tax cuts
On Tuesday, the Senate adopted on a 51-48 vote an amendment to the fiscal 2004 budget blueprint that would cut President Bush's proposed tax cut to $350 billion. A "yea" vote was to cut Bush's tax cuts.

2. 2004 budget outline
On Wednesday, the Senate passed on a 56-44 vote a resolution setting spending ceilings and guidelines for the federal budget in 2004. A "yea" vote was to pass the resolution.
