Kaua'i wedding for Gwyneth?

By Wayne Harada

Looks like the Jennifer Lopez/Ben Affleck Hawai'i wedding this weekend is bogus; they're supposed to be together in Canada this week.

Rumor has it that Gwyneth Paltrow is getting married on Kaua'i Saturday.

But Gwyneth Paltrow, the Oscar-winning "Shakespeare in Love" actress, is rumored to be the bride Saturday at 'Anini Beach on Kaua'i's North Shore. The groom is Chris Martin, frontman for the British band Coldplay.

Suzi Williams, proprietor and cake maker at Suzi's Date Bar in Kapa'a, said she's doing three wedding cakes Saturday and one could be Paltrow's. "I don't ask, and no one's mentioned her," said Williams, who did hear last week's buzz about J-Lo and Ben. Media such as US weekly and "Entertainment Tonight" are heading this way. "(Steven) Spielberg will give her away," said a Hollywood source making arrangements to be part of the anticipated media blitz. It was almost certain, too, that Blythe Danner, Paltrow's mother, and her brother, Jake, would be on Kaua'i.

The Sheraton Princeville resort is sold out this week; the wedding site is not far from the hotel. Helicopter operators think the couple chose the 'Anini area, near the Kilauea Lighthouse, because it is a bird sanctuary and historical site. "We can't fly over that zone without permission," said one chopper company spokesman.
