Warriors remain unbeaten in tourney

Kanekoa Texeira pitched a three-hitter as Kamehameha defeated Punahou, 3-1, yesterday in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu Double-Elimination Tournament at Ala Wai Field.

Keoni Ruth, Matt Morgado and Nick Freitas hit RBI singles for the Warriors, who improved to 3-0 in the tournament and 15-3 overall.

Punahou will play Mid-Pacific tomorrow at 6 p.m. at Ala Wai, with the winner advancing to play Kamehameha Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Ala Wai for the tournament championship.

• Mid-Pacific 5, Saint Louis 3: Ryan Asato set the tone with a grand slam in the top of the first inning as the Owls ousted the Crusaders from the tournament.

Conan Young pitched a six-hitter to earn the victory.

John Gentry batted 2-for-3 for the Crusaders.
