Fluor meets with subcontractors

Fluor Federal Services, which plans to take part in a $100 million renovation of Ford Island, met with about 300 potential subcontractors to discuss the project yesterday.

Fluor Federal is a contractor to Fluor Hawaii LLC, which is negotiating with the Navy to acquire Ford Island land in exchange for providing infrastructure improvements.

Fluor Hawaii in turn is a joint venture of Fluor Federal and the Hunt Building Co.

Hunt will develop Ford Island housing while Fluor Federal will be responsible for road, sewer, utility and communications upgrades. The three-year Ford Island renovation is expected to start this summer.

Fluor Federal is looking for contractors to provide such services as engineering design, equipment and materials procurement, and construction and support.

For more information contact Fluor Federal's office in Aliso Viejo, Calif., at (949) 349-2737.
