A small-kid theory of what causes that cough

I'm fortunate to have boys who love to go to school.

One recent morning while driving our car pool to elementary school, I noticed my kindergartner, Matthew, was coughing quite a bit.

I told him I would have to check his temperature because he sounded like he was getting a bad cold.

Matthew said, "No, Mom. I'm not sick. I just have germs that get stuck in my throat."
