Junior college shooting guard signs with UH

Advertiser Staff

Jake Sottos, a 6-foot-4 shooting guard from the junior college national championship team, signed a letter of intent to play for the University of Hawai'i men's basketball team today.

Sottos averaged a team-high 16.6 points per game and set a school record with 127 3-pointers for Southeastern (Iowa) Community College this past season. The Blackhawks went 37-1 and won the National Junior College Athletic Association championship in March.

"Everything about Hawai'i is right for me," he said. "I'm going to have a blast out there."

Sottos is the fourth recruit to sign with UH for next season. The others are forward Jeff Blackett from Salt Lake Community College (Utah), point guard Logan Lee from South Plains College (Texas) and guard/forward Bobby Nash from Iolani School.
